Am 14./ 15. Mai fand auf dem Hell 4X Track in Asch der zweite Lauf des Czech 4X Cups statt. Nachdem ich bereits vor einigen Wochen beim ersten Lauf als Dritter auf das Podium fahren konnte, wollte ich natürlich einen gutes Rennen fahren, um meine Position in der Gesamtwertung zu unterstreichen. Außerdem liegt Asch nicht weit von meinem Haus entfernt und ist damit quasi wie eine Heimstrecke für mich. Das erste Training am Samstag verlief ohne große Probleme. Die Strecke war aufgrund des sonnigen Wetters sehr trocken und rutschig. Da es in der Nacht zum Sonntag jedoch stark regnete, änderte sich die Situation bis zum Rennen. Vor allem der amtierende Weltmeister Tomas Slavik und Michal Prokop schienen mit den Bodenverhältinissen gut zurecht zu kommen und bereits vom ersten Gatter weg zeigte sich, dass es auf sie zu achten galt. Meinen Qualifikationslauf beendete ich auf dem zweiten Platz mit 0,3sec. Rückstand auf Slavik. Danach gewann ich jeden meiner Läufe bis ins Finale. Hier stand ich gemeinsam mit Tomas Slavik, Michal Prokop und dem slovakischen Meister Marek Pesko am Gatter. Nach der ersten Gerade lag ich hinter Slavik knapp auf Platz zwei. Diesen Platz hielt ich bis ins Ziel. In der Gesamtwertung des Czech 4X Cups verbesserte ich mich dadurch ebenso auf den zweiten Platz. Das Ergebnis lässt auf ein gutes Rennen in Szczawno-Zdrój (POL) hoffen, wo es am 21. Mai mit der Euro 4X Serie weitergeht.
On May 14th and 15th the Hell 4X track in Aš hosted the second round of the Czech 4X Cup. After I was able to come in for third at the first round in Prague a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to race well to underline my position in the overall standings. Furthermore Aš is not far from my house, making it almost like a home track for me. The first training session on Saturday went without any major problems. Due to the sunny weather the track was very dry and slippery. But heavy rain during the night changed the conditions. Already the first gate on Sunday morning showed that Tomas Slavik and Michal Prokop would ride strong. I finished second in my qualifying run and moved on to win all my heats to the final with ease. Here I lined up at the gate with the likes of Slavik, Prokop, and the reigning Slovak champion Marek Pesko. After the first straight I was right behind Slavik in second position and was able stay in this place to the finish line. The result helped me moving up in the overall where I’m also second now and should be a good Omen for the next race of the Euro 4X Series in Szczawno-Zdrój (POL) on May 21st.
